Join renowned painter and teacher Susan Abbott for an exhilarating immersion into the color of the Maine landscape. This intensive workshop will take you step by step from practical color theory in the classroom to plein air color exploration along the beautiful Mt. Desert coastline. We’ll learn to use hue value, complements, and temperature in ways that will immediately improve your color intensity, mixing and composition. After this workshop, you’ll see and use color in your landscape painting in an exciting, new way.

Artist Susan Abbott received a BFA summa cum laude and an MFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art. She creates unique still life and landscape paintings that unite glowing color, complex design, and
compelling narrative. Reviewers from around the country have praised Abbott's "virtuosity," "awesome mastery," and "dazzling skill in the unforgiving medium of watercolor" and have described her pieces as
"fantastic studies of color and form."
Her paintings are included in the collections of numerous corporations and individuals, including Oprah Winfrey. Susan Abbott is a popular teacher of painting workshops in Provence, India, Italy, and many sites around the United States. She resides in northern Vermont.
